The pattern started out as a collar in Tatting from Burda. Then I didn't want it a continuous pattern but single motifs and they needed to be longer also. So, I changed the top of the design and added more 4-ring groups to each section. In the meantime I also added the clover to the bottom of the design. Each motif from the top of the three picots to the bottom, not counting the bottom clover, is exactly 3 1/4 inches long. This could be extended with more 4-ring groups. I used DMC Cordonnet #30. The basic pattern starting at the top is 3-3 for each ring of the 4-ring group with a chain of 4-4 at the side. The next group is 4-4 and the side chain is 5-5. Continue the motif for as long as you need it. I ended with a 4-ring group of 9-9 and the side chain of 10-10. The top chain is 4-1--1-4 and the bottom originally should have been 10-1--1-10. The optional clover that I added is 3 rings of 4-4-4-4. If you need any more help, just ask.
